About the Hotel
Al Olayan Al Khalil sits on Ibrahim Al Khalil Street in Al Misfalah — the road most pilgrims come to know, because it runs almost straight down to the Haram. From the door it is roughly 700 metres to the Grand Mosque, about a thirteen-minute walk. That distance matters more than it sounds: you can leave for a prayer and be back without arranging transport, several times a day.
The hotel is unpretentious, and built around what a pilgrim group actually needs. Rooms sleep two, three or four. Each has air conditioning, a mini-fridge and a kettle, a safe and an en-suite bathroom. There is a restaurant downstairs for when you come back late from Tarawih, a lounge in the lobby, and free Wi-Fi throughout.
The Clock Tower complex, with its shops and food courts, lies on the way to the Haram. Makkah train station is about 7 kilometres away.
Entry to Makkah is permitted for Muslims only.
