Desert Camel Riding & Bedouin Cultural Experience

Step onto the soft sands of the Eastern Desert for an authentic camel riding experience just outside Hurghada. Designed for travellers seeking a calm and traditional way to explore Egypt’s coastal desert landscape, this excursion offers an up-close look at the desert environment while riding the traditional transport of the desert, often called the "ship of the desert." Suitable for individuals, couples, and families alike, this journey provides a distinct contrast to the coastal resort atmosphere of the city.

Your excursion begins with direct pickup from your hotel reception in an air-conditioned transfer vehicle, taking you on a short drive into the quiet desert perimeter surrounding Hurghada. Upon arrival at the desert base, experienced camel handlers will welcome you and introduce you to your gentle, well-trained camel. Before mounting, the handlers will provide clear safety instructions on how to comfortably sit in the traditional saddle, hold the reins, and maintain balance while the camel stands up and sits down. Safety and comfort are prioritized throughout the entire session.

Once securely seated, your guided caravan will set out across the open desert terrain. As your camel moves at a relaxed, steady pace, you will travel along sandy trails and across open plains flanked by mountain backdrops. The elevated seating position on the camel offers panoramic views over the vast expanse of desert sand and distant mountain ridges. Throughout the ride, your guide will accompany the group on foot to assist with controlling the camels, ensuring a safe and smooth journey for all riders.

The trail leads toward a setup near a traditional Bedouin campsite in the desert. During a scheduled stop, you will have time to dismount, relax, and enjoy traditional Bedouin herbal tea served in shade shelters. This pause allows you to take in the quiet desert surroundings, snap photos with the camels, and learn about the daily lifestyle, hospitality practices, and desert survival skills of the local Bedouin communities.

After resting and taking photos against the desert backdrop, you will remount your camel for the return trail ride back to the main station. Upon completing the ride, you will transfer back to your vehicle for a comfortable drive directly to your hotel.
